Description Wells is a seven-mile barrier beach separated from the mainland by a river. There are several public beach sections providing plenty of space for sunbathing, walking and other activities, even at high tide. This 4000-yd beach is bordered by natural sand dunes and sea grass. It's quite popular and provides extensive facilities including restrooms, concessions, a picnic area, playground, arcade and adjacent shops. There is also a scenic overlook in the parking lot with benches for pedestrians to watch the beach. Lifeguards are on duty here in-season. There's limited free parking and several daily fee parking lots. Unless you arrive early, expect to pay for parking during the summer.
