Long Sands Beach

Long Sands
Even though Long Sands is a popular break, it's not the highest quality wave. There are several peaks along this beach, which help spread out crowds. On a good day, any of them can yield long, fun rides. Long Sands is a great place for beginners, due to its multiple breaks and wave shape. The only drawback is that surfing is restricted to a safety zone during lifeguard hours. This forces everyone to share a single peak. Prime conditions occur in the winter, when larger surf from winter storms arrives in and wind direction is better. Best swell direction is SE. Best winds are NW.
