Barnstable, Cape Cod's biggest town, has eight villages which each retain a different flavor and landscape which fits that flavor. The historic north side along Route 6A closely resembles many Outer Cape towns for visitors wishing to stay close to nature while being near mainland access. Mystic Lake in Marstons Mills, Cape Cod, MACenterville, located on the south side, is primarily residential and has beautiful Craigville Beach. Osterville, also on the same side has many inlets and harbors for marine activities. Hyannis is the town's business and commercial center. It features numerous restaurants and shopping malls
