The event was run in front of a 7,000 person crowd lining the beach. The early rounds saw big names bow out of the event with Willy Petrovick (Big Island HI) being taken out by Ruben Sanchez (Puerto Rico) and Jason Bitzer (NJ) in the first round. Also Drew Erichson was knocked out by a .5 count back in his quarter final which set the tone for interesting semi final rounds with new faces in each heat.
