Cape Cod & the Islands are the summer home for many cetacean species like Humpback, Finback and Minke whales. The North Atlantic Right whale, a rare and endangered species, are sometimes sighted in the waters of Provincetown and Cape Cod Bay. Other types like Pilot whales, dolphins and harbor porpoises are also frequently seen. The two main ports for whale watches on the Cape are Hyannis and Provincetown. Provincetown is probably the best location to embark from for a successful whalewatching voyage.
