From the rocky coast of Maine to the Florida Keys, from the ponds,
rivers, lakes and streams of New England and New York to the majestic
Tetons of Wyoming, Curt "Gadabout" Golder offers you his 48
years of angling experience. Since 1989 Angling
Adventures has been providing a unique and exciting opportunity for
anglers from all over the world.
Angling Adventures specializes in fly fishing and light tackle
angling for "micropterus Dolomieu", the tough fighting, high jumping
smallmouth bass. Pound for pound and inch for inch the gamest fish to ever test
an anglers abilities.
"Fishing
in my boat is an exciting experience", says Gadabout. "When
I get a coachable, enthusiastic client, it doesn't take long before
our efforts are rewarded with success. That makes my day, and my
clients too."
Angling
Adventures offers guided fishing trips for one or two anglers on fly
fishing and trolling trips and up to three anglers using spinning or
casting gear. Besides smallmouth bass we also fish "Winni" for
salmon, trout, pickerel, perch and largemouth bass. Guided fishing
trips to the Connecticut River for walleyes and northern pike can also
be arranged.
A licensed New Hampshire guide since 1989, Curt "Gadabout" Golder
specializes in light tackle angling utilizing spinning,
casting and fly rods. Using both artificial lures and live bait techniques, this
New Hampshire Fish and Game Department certified fishing instructor has guided
hundreds and hundreds of anglers from over 40 states and 11 countries. An "angling
educator" Golder has taught classes for the Science Center of New Hampshire,
4-H, Fish and Game, D.U. and others. His fly fishing school
has introduced many to the sport of angling with a fly.

The Fishing
Season (Late
April through Mid October)
Our fishing season begins in April when "Old Man Winter" slowly
releases his frosty grasp on our aquatic environs. The 100 year average
for "Ice Out" on Lake Winipesaukee is April 22nd. At this time
we troll flies, plugs and spoons on or close to the surface to catch
salmon, lake trout and rainbow trout. Drifting live bait is also an effective
way to catch these species. For those looking for a tasty meal the abundant
white perch is active and can be caught this early in the year.
In
May and June the water continues to warm and more fish become active.
Now we catch smallmouth bass, pickerel, largemouth bass, perch and
a variety of sunfish. This is the best angling of the year -BUT- it
is limited to flies and artificial lures and requires a certain expertise
of casting and retrieving and a definite tenacity for success. With
most fish species in the upper water column fly fishing is now at it's
peak.
The
summer months of July and August send the salmon and lake trout to
deeper waters seeking the comfort of cooler temperatures. To catch
them during this period requires the use of downriggers or lead core
lines. Going deep with spoons and jigs can also trick these creatures
of the deep. The more temperature tolerant warm water fish stay active
in the shallower water, though early morning is the best angling. This
is the best time to introduce a youngster to the excitement of fishing.
The
shorter days and longer nights of the approaching fall cool the water
and once again you will find most fish moving to shallow waters to
begin their autumnal feeding binge readying themselves for the coming
winter. With the crowds of summer long departed and the mountains ablaze
with color, it's easy to understand why fall is the favorite of many
anglers.

"To
go fishing is the chance to wash one's soul with pure air, with the
rush of the brook, or the shimmer of the sun on blue water. It brings
meekness and inspiration from the decency of nature, charity toward
tackle makers, patience toward fish, a mockery of profits and egos,
a quieting of hate, a rejoicing that you do not have to decide a darned
thing until next week. And it is disipline in the equality of men -
for all men are equal before fish"
Herbert Hoover
