Carson Beach is located in South Boston. It features public restrooms, showers and changing facilities all enclosed in a full-service bathhouse. State-funded renovations have helped make this a pleasant and popular city beach destination. Lifeguards are on duty in-season. Popular activities here include swimming, kayaking (rentals available) and volleyball (2 sand courts).

Public transit: take the MBTA Red Line to the UMASS/JFK T-stop and walk across Day Boulevard, or take MBTA Bus #7 from the Red Line at South Station.
