Description: Scargo Lake is uniquely shaped like a fish. It averages 25 feet deep and maxes out at 48 feet. Underwater visibility is quite good, extending about 16 feet. The lake's bottom mailnly consists of sand and rubble. The shoreline is moderately developed with lakefront homes, docks and private beaches.

This pond is situated in Dennis Village between Route 6A and Scargo Hill Rd. Princess Beach, located off Scargo Hill, is the primary public beach area. Public facilities here include restrooms, swings and a picnic pavilion. Parking is limited and requires a daily summer fee. Lifeguards are on duty in-season.

 

 
Directions: From Rte. 6 take Exit 8 in Yarmouth Port. Head north on Union St. towards Rte. 6A. Turn right on 6A and follow it into Dennis Village. Turn right on Old Bass River Rd. past the village green and look for Scargo Hill Rd. on your left. Turn and follow it up to the top of the hill. The gated Princess Beach entrance is on the lefthand side and leads down to the lakeshore.
