Outlook as of July 19th 9:00 am - Chest high today. Nantucket buoy (7:50 am) is showing 3.6' at 9 secs from ESE. Today's wind will be 15-20mph from SW. The water will be cold. High tide is at 1:20 pm. Tomorrow's waves might be a little bigger with a little less wind. There's a low pressure system working it's way up the coast that may give us head high waves on Tuesday and Wednesday.
July 18th 8:30 am Looks like another head high day. Nantucket buoy (7:50 am) is showing 6.2' at 9 secs from SE. Today's wind will be approx 15 from SSW. Low tide at 6:30. The offshore wind will blow away the warm surface water and bring up cold stuff. Depending on how deep you sit in the water a full suit could be the order of the day (it'll be hot out of the water). Bertha's swell fades tomorrow but closer to shore low pressure systems will pick up where she leaves off. Waves will continue for the next week, maybe even getting to head high again by next Wednesday or Thursday.
July 17th 7:00 am - Well look at this... Nantucket buoy (5:50am) showing 5.6' at 10 secs from SE. Bertha's still delivering! Today's low tide is at 5:45 pm. Light SE wind today. Lots of sun. Looks like tomorrow will be great too. Hard to get work done these days. Waves continuing in chest high range through the weekend.
July 16th 7:00 am - Nice day again today with chest+ and occasional head high sets, sun and not too much wind. Nantucket buoy (5:50am) showing 4.3' at 12 secs from SE. low tide is at 5:15 pm. Light wind from N shifting to NE then E and increasing to 10 mph. Swell holds up through Friday.
July 15th 7:00 am - Today will be a little smaller than yesterday with a LOT less wind. Wind might come up to 10 mph out of the SE this afternoon. Low tide at 4:30pm. Chest+ with occasional head high waves Nantucket buoy showing (5:50am) 4.9' from SE at 11 secs. Waves will continue (smaller) through Friday. With light onshore wind the water today should be warmer than yesterday (not hard).
July 14th 7:45 am - Head high set waves today. Wind SSW at 10-15 mph. Low tide at 3:30pm. Tomorrow looks like chest high waves with light wind, possibly glassy conditions. Bertha will continue to pump waves to us for the next few days.
July 13th 11am - Solid
chest+ today with unfortunately strong 17mph SSE wind. It's bumpy out
there. Nantucket buoy showing 4.6' SE at 11 secs. Showers
tomorrow with wind at 10+ mph from S. Monday's waves could be
head high..Waves are breaking through high tide. Bertha's swell will
continue through Wednesday... with less strength than initially

Outlook as of July 12th - Should be a very pleasant day today with waist+ waves, light onshore breeze and sun. Nantucket buoy is currently showing 3' at 10 secs from ESE. Today's low tide is at 1:45pm. Tomorrow will have waist high waves with onshore SE wind at around 13 mph so conditions will get bumpy. Bertha is pumping waves but she's mellowed a little and not as strong as forecast a few days ago. Waves may get to head high by Wednesday/Thursday.
July 11th 6:45am - Swell from Bertha is beginning to arrive at Cape Cod beaches. Nantucket buoy is showing 4.3' at 11 secs from SE. CG cam shows healthy lines coming in and waves breaking right now at high tide. It'll be chest+ this afternoon. Low tide is at 12:45pm today. Today's wind will be shifting from N to NE at under 10mph. Bertha's waves will be with us through next Thursday and they'll be growing in size to at least head+ by Monday. This is a special event. July 10th 7am Optimistically it's waist high this morning. As tide comes in this afternoon things may improve. Nantucket buoy is showing 4.3' at 8 secs from SSW. Today's low tide is at 12:20pm. Light westerly wind offshore this afternoon. Conditions are nice. Hurricane Bertha will begin her deliveries tomorrow afternoon and will keep on shipping through next week, starting at chest high and growing each day. Wednesday July 16th could see 2X overhead. These waves will have more heft to them than is typical in New England. A 4' hurricane wave from 1000 miles offshore is much more powerful than a 4' wave generated from a close-to-shore and fast moving storm. It's wise to spend some time looking before paddling out.
July 9th 5:15am It feels like December 23rd and Santa will be here in two days. Bertha looks better and better. Hurricane swell will start arriving on Friday with chest high and should last well into the middle of next week. Looks like we should see clean overhead+ on Monday afternoon, maybe 2X overhead on Tuesday. Oh...BTW there are some thigh high waves out there today. Today's wind is strong SSW at 20+ mph, low tide at 11:20am. Tomorrow should be chest high and clean.
July 8th 3:30pm - Tomorrow is setting up to be thigh high with strong SW winds. Wind drops Thursday and waves could be chest+. Hurricane Bertha is making the turn north and looks like she's going to move slowly through our sweet spot over the course of several days. The first swell from should arrive at Cape Cod beaches on Friday afternoon, grow to head high by Sunday and linger in the chest high range through Tuesday. Wind will be generally favorable.
July 7th 7:20am - Nantucket buoy currently showing 2.3' SSE at 8 secs. Knee to thigh high and clean this morning with light SW wind. Low tide at 9:30am. Wind builds to 10-15mph SSW this afternoon. There will be waves all this week, the best days looking like Wednesday and Thursday with waist + and light offshore wind. If Hurricane Bertha stays on track her first waves will start to arrive at Cape Cod beaches on Sunday. This could be a first rate swell with clean head+ starting a week from today and lasting for 2-3 days.
July 6th - Nantucket buoy currently showing 2' SSW at 8 secs. Knee high set waves! Light winds and foggy. Low tide is at 8:45am. Waist high on tap for Wednesday and Thursday. Bertha continues to develop nicely and could be sending nice long interval head+ waves to us starting next Saturday.

Outlook as of July 5, 9:45am - Knee high today with light onshore wind. Low tide at 8pm. Tomorrow offers the same. Tropical low Bertha is forecast to tighten up and make the swing northward. There's a chance that next weekend we could see 2X overhead hurricane swell.
July 4, 9am -Knee to thigh high through Sunday. Wind is generally light onshore or offshore. Low tide is at 7:15pm. Water is still cold. 3/4 with boots is comfortable. There is a tropical low that has left the coast of Africa heading west - it might make the turn northward and give us some thing to shout about late next week.
July 3, 7:20am - Nantucket buoy showing 3.6' at 5 secs from S. Thigh high waves today. Wind will be blowing at 20+ from SW this afternoon, low tide at 6:15pm. Possible waist high tomorrow with morning rain showers. Small waves through weekend with intermittent thunderstorms.
July 2, 6:15am - Nantucket buoy showing 4.6' at 7 secs from S. Waist to chest high waves. Wind today is from S at 10 mph. Low tide this afternoon is 5:22. Wind will blow hard tomorrow from SW at 15-20 erasing much of the swell we've seen. Wind diminishes and blows onshore Friday and Saturday with wave heights respectively knee and waist.
July 1, 8am - Nothing like getting into the water to confirm a forecast. Waves this morning are waist to chest. Water is bumpy at Orleans from SSW wind. Should be cleaner at beaches N of Eastham. Water is cold... go with full suit (up to 3/4) with boots.
6:30am -Nantucket buoy showing 6.2' at 8 secs from SSW. Chest+ waves with light wind this morning. Wind increases to 12mph SSW during the day. Low tide today at 4:15 this afternoon. Tomorrow looks like chest high with 10mph wind from S.
June 30, 2:15pm - Nantucket buoy showing 5.9' at 9 secs from SSW. Looks nice out there! Wind isn't as strong as forecast. Chest+ this afternoon, chest high tomorrow, waist+ on Wed. Wind will be mostly SW. Go and get it! Low tide is at 3:25 this afternoon.
June 29 - Swell building from the south tonight through Monday with wind blowing SSW at 18 mph and gusting up to 25 on Monday afternoon. Wind diminishes on Tuesday to 15 mph from SSW and still more on Wednesday morning to around 10 mph from SW.

Outlook as of Friday 8:10am - Nantucket buoy showing 2.3' from S at 10 secs. Thigh high waves. Light offshore wind this morning building to 10+ mph SSW this afternoon. Low tide is at 12:20. Tomorrow should see thigh+ waves. Sunday will be bumpy conditions with strong S wind. Monday and Tuesday could see chest high and clean.
Thursday 9:30am - Nantucket buoy showing 2' from SSE at 9 secs. Thigh high waves. Wind is currently SW at less than 10 mph, building to 15+ with gusts of 20+ later today. Low tide is at 11:52. Thunderstorms in the forecast so keep an eye on the sky. Knee high tomorrow. Wind starts coming in from E on Saturday and SE with some strength on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday could see chest high and clean.
Wednesday 5:45am - Nantucket buoy showing 3.9' from SSE at 7 secs. Waist high waves. Wind is NW at 10-15 mph this morning going W then SW this afternoon. Low tide is at 11:05. Not much in store for Thursday. Friday looks waist high again. Saturday and Sunday show stormy conditions. Monday could be very nice with head high on glass.

Outlook as of Saturday 6:30am -The CG cam and forecast look like the aging wood deck at my house: flat with a few bumps. Today's a good day for stand-up paddling, rowing, kayaking, anything that doesn't require swell or wind. Might as well mow the lawn, clean the basement, wash the dog. No gift for Dad tomorrow either. There's hope for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - could even be head high and clean Tuesday afternoon.
Friday 6am -Thigh high today, Nantucket buoy showing 2.6' from E at 11 sec. Wind will be NW at less than 10 mph. Low tide is at 2:15. Wind comes onshore Saturday and Sunday with diminished waves. Something might be brewing for next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday 8am -Nantucket buoy is currently showing 3' E at 11 secs. Wind forecast is N and NNW at 10-15 gusting to 20mph. If that doesn't happen it'll be very nice out there. Today's low tide is at 1:15. Small waves for the next few days.
Wednesday 6:30am -Nantucket buoy is currently showing 2' ESE at 10 secs. NW wind at under 10mph for the day. Low tide is at 12:15. Today should be a little better than yesterday. Call it thigh high with occasional waist sets. Tomorrow's wind will blow harder from NNW and erase the small swell that we've had. Saturday and Sunday could see waist high out of the N.
Monday 9:45am - Nantucket buoy is currently showing 2'ESE. We're now looking at knee high through Wednesday. Heat continues for today and tomorrow. There's hope for something this coming weekend.
