NOAA forecast for the Cape Cod area

Outlook as of July 26th 7:00 am Waist+ today with sunshine and wind under 10 mph from S. Low tide is at 1pm. Nantucket buoy shows (4:50 am) 5.9' at 6 secs from S. Waves will be smaller tomorrow with stronger wind from SW. Yesterday's forecast was overly optimistic. Today's could be a little on the pessimistic side. When the swell runs more or less parallel to the beach a slight bump in or out can make a big difference in the wave size.

July 25th 6:00 am - Rain with S wind at 10+ mph this morning will give way to sunshine, offshore SW wind and clean chest+ waves this afternoon. Low tide is at 11:20 am. Nantucket buoy is showing (5:50am) 5.9' at 9 secs from SSW. Tomorrow should be nice chest high, with sunshine and light SW wind. Sunday will feature waist high waves and increasing wind from SSW.

July 24th 7:30 am - Waist high waves in bumpy water today. Nantucket buoy is showing (5:50 am) 3.6' from SSW at 8 secs. Wind shifts to SSW on Friday and blows at around 15 mph. Saturday looks promising with lighter SW wind, sunshine and waist high waves.

July 23rd 7:15 am - Nantucket buoy is showing (5:50 am) 3' at 8 secs from S. Waist high today with wind onshore from NE shifting to SSE at 10 mph. Today's low tide is at 9:45 am. Conditions will be bumpy for the next few days. Wind blows mostly onshore at 20mph from SSE and SE tomorrow with thunder showers and continues blow at 15+ mph from SE on Friday. Things should clean up on Saturday and Sunday with maybe waist high waves, sun, and offshore wind.

July 22nd 6:15 am -This is what we're getting from Cristobal: Nantucket buoy is showing (5:50 am) 4.6' at 10 secs from SSW. Shoulder high set waves. Today's wind is N at 10 mph and low tide is at 9 am. Wind shifts tonight and blows from S at 15 mph tomorrow and at 20+ mph from SE on Thursday as another low pressure system swings by. Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in the forecast for the next two days. On Friday the sun should come out with light offshore wind and head high set waves. Keep fingers crossed.

July 21st 7:45 am - Waist to chest today with wind SSW at 15-20 mph gusting to 25 mph. Low tide is at 8:25 am. Wind drops to 10-15 mph SSW tomorrow and the waves get bigger. Could be head high Tuesday and Wednesday thanks to Cristobal. No flat days in sight!

20th 9:15 am - Thigh high today with SW wind increasing to 15 mph this afternoon. Today's low tide was at 7:45am, water temp is cool. Nantucket buoy shows 3.3' from SW`at 6 secs, but there's still a little bit of Bertha out there. Thunderstorms a possibility this afternoon. The wind will blow hard from SSW tomorrow, gusting to 25+ mph. Tropical Storm Cristobal is projected to pass by Cape Cod on Tuesday morning.  Waves could be well overhead by Tuesday afernoon. It's unclear if wind will be SW or SE that day. Wednesday and Thursday could be chest+.
