Gigantic jellyfish blob kills 100,000 salmon

The "Mauve Stinger"
A gigantic blob of jellyfish wiped out a salmon farm in Ireland this week.  Billions of jellyfish of the species  Pelagia nocticula (aka the "mauve stinger") congregated in a 10 square mile by 35 foot deep blanket and floated over two net pens off the coast of the Glens of Antrim, north of Belfast.  Over 100,000 salmon were killed.  These jellyfish normally keep to the Mediterranean.  Warming ocean temperature is considered a likely cause. Here's the full story from CNN
