Description
Sachuest Beach, known to locals as Second Beach, is popular and
becomes very busy during the summer. It features a 1.25 mile long sandy
shoreline along Sachuest Bay and is also the only area beach with true
sand dunes. One part of Second Beach is called Surfer's End. This section
is dedicated to board surfers of all types. When the swell is consistent,
it gets crowded quickly. Sachuest is also a favorite walking destination,
offering a great view of Purgatory Chasm. No pets are allowed. Facilities
include restrooms, concessions, changing rooms and a picnic area. The
large parking lot is located off Sachuest Point Road and requires a daily
fee.
