Description
Wells is a seven-mile barrier beach separated from the mainland
by a river. There are several public beach sections providing plenty of
space for sunbathing, walking and other activities, even at high tide.
This 4000-yd beach is bordered by natural sand dunes and sea grass. It’s
quite popular and provides extensive facilities including restrooms, concessions,
a picnic area, playground, arcade and adjacent shops. There is also a
scenic overlook in the parking lot with benches for pedestrians to watch
the beach. Lifeguards are on duty here in-season. There's limited free
parking and several daily fee parking lots. Unless you arrive early, expect
to pay for parking during the summer.
