Description:
Sherwood Island Park is a 234-acre peninsula consisting of beachfront,
salt marshes and forests. Because of the property purchase year (1914),
this is officially Connecticut’s oldest state park. Facilities include
restrooms, concessions, picnic areas and showers. This is a multi-use
area offering swimming, fishing, birdwatching, etc. Municipal parking
is available and requires a variable daily fee.
