Madaket Beach , Nantucket
Description: Madaket is the westernmost accessible public beach on Nantucket. This area is well-known for its spectacular sunsets. The beach itself is very large, with the western edge only accessible by 4WD.
Facilities include restrooms and nearby concessions. The surf here is consistently heavy, so swimming is not recommended. For safety, lifeguards are on duty in-season. A great place to watch the sunset after a long day of summer fun...

Directions: Regular NRTA shuttle service is available to/from here or, for the more adventurous, you can ride a 5.5-mile scenic bike trail leading straight to the beach.
