Description: Head of the Meadow (HOTM)
is one of Truro's nicest ocean-facing beaches. Technically, two beaches
exist here: the Truro town beach and a National Seashore beach, as well.
The entire area
is a casual volleyball hotspot and also draws many sunbathers during the
season.
HOTM's constantly shifting sandbars attract many surfers and bodysurfers.
Swimming is also a popular activity. There's even a shipwreck (only visible
at low tide)!
Parking here requires a daily seasonal fee. Both beaches feature generous
parking, public restrooms and lifeguard coverage. An ice cream truck visits
daily offering snacks and refreshments.
