Falmouth MA
Falmouth is one of several larger towns on the Cape. Like Sandwich and
Bourne, it was formed by a different glacier than the one which created
the more eastern lying Cape towns. Falmouth has one of the longest coastlines
of any town in Massachusetts, which features beautiful harbors and fantastic
waterfront views.
Town agencies here are very aware of man's environmental impact on this
coastline.
In response, Falmouth has set aside large tracts of land for public conservation,
including waterfront, woodlands and outlying areas that are all natural
habitats for wildlife. Their desire is to preserve the fragile ecology
of this area while regulating a rapid rate of residential and commercial
growth. These circumstances present a unique challenge for them...one
they have risen to meet head-on.
