Chilmark, Martha's Vineyard

Image

Chilmark is mainly a residential and agricultural community. Its town center features a small elementary schoolhouse circa 1850, a public library circa 1790, a town hall circa 1897, and a historic church built in1843. All these buildings have been recently renovated during recent years.

Within Chilmark lies a small fishing village called Menemsha. From spring thru fall, fishing boats come in with their catches and fresh seafood can be purchased there. The harbor, along with its commercial pier, also features a small marina that is very popular during the summer. Menemsha is also home to the Vineyard’s Coast Guard Station.
Chilmark is a great destination during autumn. The busy tourist season is over and the climate is beautiful. Its rolling landscape and breathtaking ocean views make the town a fantastic place to visit.

Chilmark is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, northeast and south. West Tisbury is situated to its west and Aquinnah to the southeast.
