Bourne MA
Bourne is a medium-sized
community at the gateway to Cape Cod. The Cape Cod Canal bisects it,
with the Bourne/Sagamore bridges and the railroad bridge
all located here. The canal is well known for its superb sport
fishing.
The Bourne Scenic Park campground lies beneath the Bourne Bridge and
is a great place to enjoy views of the canal. Bourne has numerous quiet
harbors and inlets for boating and swimming. Shellfishing here is also
quite good.
This is a quiet community without the summer tourist crush experienced
by other Cape towns. The Bourne Scallop Festival, which is held every
year in early September, draws visitors from across the nation.
