Description
Wingaersheek is a small, scenic beach at the mouth of the Annisquam River. This 1.5 mile area is a very safe environment for younger children. The beach itself is located on a protected inlet, which is both calm and shallow. The topography is sandy and flat. Families make up the vast majority of the visitor base here. The surrounding area is scenic, offering great views of the Annisquam Lighthouse. The small parking lot fills up quickly. Plan on arriving in-season before 9:30AM, or you may not get a space. Lifeguards are also on duty here in-season. Concessions are also available.


 

 

Directions
Take Route 128 to Exit 13 (Concord Street). Turn left and follow to Atlantic Road. Then turn right and follow all the way to the beach.

Cressy Beach Gloucester

Description
This beach resides in Stage Fort Park on Gloucester Harbors western side. Its topography is more rocky than sandy. A visitor center, public restrooms and restaurant are open within the park during the summer. Cressy is a vastly underused area because of its lack of road visibility and far distance from the large main park public parking lot. There are no lifeguards on duty here in-season.


 

 

Directions
Take Rte. 128 North to Exit 14. Turn right off the ramp on Rte. 133. Follow it all the way to its end. Turn right on Rte. 127 and then left into Stage Fort Park. The parking lot is at the top of the hill. Cressy Beach is down the hill across from the restaurant.

Description
Crane is one of New Englands most scenic beaches with 3 miles of white sand. This shoreline stretches along both sides of Castle Neck, forming a uniquely picturesque and safe swimming with great views of Ipswich Bay. More than 250,000 people visit here annually. The area is privately owned and operated by the Trustees of Reservations. Tidal pools are a hit with kids. Lifeguards are on duty here in-season. Facilities include restrooms, bathhouse, concessions, picnic area and showers.


 

 

Directions
Take the Tobin/Mystic Bridge to Route 1 North. Take Route 1 to Route 128 North, and follow it to Route 1A North (Lynnway) to Exit 20. After Route 133 bears right, take your third right on Argilla Road. Crane Beach is 2.5 miles down Argilla.
