Description

This Beverly town beach has a jetty on its righthand side. Terrain consists of coarse sand with pebbles mixed in. A raised retaining wall with bordering grassy field abuts the shoreline here. Additionally, it offers scenic views of Salem across Beverly Harbor. Facilities include public restrooms and a floating dock. Parking comprises 12 on-street spaces and a small municipal lot.

 



Directions
From 128N take exit 18. Turn right on Rte 22S. Then youll see a small shopping area on the left. Pass over some railroad tracks and take the third left on Corning St. At the second stop sign, turn right on East Lothrop St. Go straight thru one stoplight, and the beach will be on your left. .

Description
Pavilion is located where Plum Island Sound opens up into Ipswich Bay. This beach resides inside Great Neck Park. It provides a nice backdrop to the shoreline. Surf can become intense here with strong rip currents also forming. No lifeguards are on duty in-season. Facilities include a picnic area, playground and boat launch. Parking is available in a public municipal lot.

 



Directions
From the west: Take Rte. 95 to exit 54 - Rte. 133 East
From the south: Take Rte. 128 to exit 20 - Route 1A North
Continue through Ipswich on Rte. 1A/133 for 1/2 mile to a bend in the road and continue through Ipswich center. At the bend, go straight on County Rd. another mile, then bear left on Jeffreys Neck Rd. After 1.7 miles, take the right fork on Little Neck Rd.

Description
Not your average beach, Parker River National Wildlife Refuge was established on Plum Island in 1942 as an environmentally conscious coastal area. It now provides year round sanctuary to some 270 bird species. Families will find this to be a perfect place for a picnic. Beach terrain here encompasses dunes, marshlands, bogs and features diverse shorebird species. Beachgoers will also enjoy walking along the six miles of natural barrier beach. With powerful surf and a strong undertow, swimming here requires caution.


 

 

Directions
From Route 95 take exit 57 and travel east on Route 113, then go straight onto Route 1A South to the intersection with Rolfes Lane for a total of 3.5 miles. Turn left here and travel 0.5 miles to its end. Then turn right on the Plum Island Turnpike and travel 2.0 miles crossing the bridge onto Plum Island. Take your first right on Sunset Drive and travel 0.5 miles to the refuge entrance.

Description
This secluded beach resides in a quiet, out-of-the-way location. Its just a short walk from Rockport village. Facilities include a picnic area offering scenic view. Old Garden is a beautiful place, but is also small and not easily accessible. Topography here is a sandy shoreline with sand bottom. In-season, parking is for residents only and is curbside, adjacent to the beach. Parking is available on nearby side streets as an alternative.




Directions
Take Rte. 1 or Rte. 93 To 128 North. Follow 128N passing thru two rotaries. Shortly after the second rotary, you'll come to a stopight. Turn left onto Rte. 127 North. Follow 127N until reaching a five-way intersection, then follow the signs to downtown Rockport. In downtown Rockport, turn left on 127A. Then quickly turn left on Norwood Ave. Follow Norwood Ave down the hill and along the ocean. As the road bears right following the shore, youll see a small parking lot.
