Description
Pavilion Beach is located off Commercial Street, site of the famous "Fisherman Statue." Most tourists overlook here because it's hidden in the midst of downtown Gloucester. This is a nice place to relax with good swimming. Terrain is a mixture of sand and cobblestones. Visitors can enjoy a scenic harbor view complete with boat traffic. Abutting the shoreline is a neighborhood and also commercial buildings. No parking lot or facilities exist here. Concessions are located nearby.


Directions from Rt 128 Essex: S on Washington St to Beach Ct turn right.

Mingo Beach Beverly

Click for Map to Mingo Beach Beverly On Rt 127 (Hale St) north of Beverly, across from Endicott College, sits Mingo Beach, a rocky beach with a great view of Marblehead to the south. The bottom just off the beach is fine sand. With a south-southeast exposure, this beach receives surf on a regular basis. Niles Beach Gloucester

Description
This beach offers scenic views of both Boston and the mansions on Gloucester's eastern point. It's an ideal destination for vacationers seeking good swimming and sunbathing without all the crowds. Terrain here is flat and sandy with rocks on either side of the shorefront. Surf is also very calm in this well-protected area. Bottom consists of a gradually sloping sand bottom with depths of 15 - 20 feet. Parking is available with a residential sticker only. No facilities exist here.

 



Directions
Take Rte. 1 or Rte. 93 To 128 North. Follow 128N passing thru two rotaries. Shortly after the second rotary, you'll come to a stoplight. Take a left from the parking lot on 127S. Then turn left at the next stoplight. At the third stoplight, go straight thru the intersection on East Main St. Travel this road for about 1/2 mile. Niles is the only large beach on East Main St.

Description
Cape Hedge is a scenic beach located in a quiet spot, well-hidden from most tourist traffic. No facilities exist here except for a boat ramp. The beach itself is covered with cobblestones. A small municipal lot resides on Seaview Street, just off Route 127A. Parking here requires a residents-only sticker.


 

 

Directions
Traveling down Route 127A into Rockport, look for the Turk's Head Inn on your right. Turn there & then look for the small beach parking lot.
