193 acre Indian Lake is located withing the city of Worcester. The lake has a mean depth of 10.7 feet. There are two beaches. Shore Park Beach off Shore Dr is the larger of the two with a dedicated swimming area and 200' of shoreline. Restrooms, snackbar and picnic area are available. Lifeguards are on duty in season. The medium sized parking lot is paved asphalt.

Clason Rd. Beach is a neighborhood beach accessed off Clason Rd or Sherburne Ave from West Boylston Dr. The beach here is approximately 150'. There is a restroom and an unpaved parking lot.

Indian Lake has two public boat ramps and fishing is good. Several tiger muskie and northern pike stockings over the past two decades offer the possibility of catching a trophy. There is also a good largemouth bass population as well as yellow perch and black crappies and carp.

Whitehall Pond offers an undeveloped 150' swimming beach with free parking in Rutland State Park. Restrooms are nearby. The pond is stocked with trout.

Directions from Worcester: Rt 122 northwest to 122a north, left onto Rutland State Park Rd, quick right onto White Hall Rd.

The swimming beach at Crow Hills Pond is accompanied by a clean bathhouse, picnic areas with tables and grills and a nearby parking area. Lifeguards are on duty from mid-June until Labor Day. This is the only pond in 4300 acre Leominster State Park that is open for swimming. This is a fine place for fishing as the pond is stocked with trout several times a year. Nearby Paradise Pond is popular for canoeing and kayaking with many islands and an interesting shoreline to explore. The State Park offers miles of trails for hiking and fire roads for mountain biking.

From Worcester area: Rte. 190 North to Rte 140 North (exit 5) to Rte 31 North

20 acre Dunn Pond offers a sand beach for swimming and playing in 199 acre Heritage State Park. There are restrooms, picnic area, paddle boat rentals, walking trails and play equipment for children. Access is provided for the disabled. Non motorized boats such as kayaks and canoes are allowed on the lake. There's a medium sized parking lot (fee).

Directions: Rte. 2 to exit 24 (Rte. 140 north), left at second light onto Rte. 101 south.
